How human beings can be irrational and unruly for their fellow human beings – I realized (once again) when I visited Peshawar last month. I checked in to Peshawar Golf Club early evening and called a couple of friends who live in Peshawar. But they said they would see me later that evening, so I cancelled my plans of unpacking for a while and sat in the chair in the balcony of my room. People or May I call them “gods”, if religion permits me so, were playing golf in the fields in front of me. I just couldn’t help feeling their “godly” presence there. Their attitude made me to think like that. Actually, its not their fault, golf IS very much an elite sports, not meant for ordinary people like me. That’s why I never liked golf but that was my first chance to watch it closely and observe keenly few things other than the technicalities of the game. A few amateurs were standing in a row in the field. Every one of them has two attendants waiting for him; one to give him the new ball and one for holding his extra clubs. It’s not this only. A few attendants were standing at different places in the field as well, just to pick up the balls that the “gods” were throwing there and then to bring those balls again to them so that they can throw them again. I mean three poor souls at the disposal of one guy; for his absurd entertainment? So that he can throw the balls in different directions aimlessly – poor wretches. I don’t like to pity people and I am not a supporter of communism. But hello! This is not fair at all. What big cause is playing golf that three human beings are dedicated for one person? This reminds me of the famous forwarded mail comparing the daily life of two head of states; Pakistan and Iran.
I want nothing but I demand only a little respect for the human lives. Why God has been unfair while dispensing wealth and wisdom among His creatures? Whose fault is this if somebody’s born in a peasant’s house? And why the son of a lord enjoys all which he has never earned? I just don’t get it.
man, but what I feel is that, those 3 ppl who are picking up the balls for the ‘God’ are doomed to do what they are doing because they are not ready to work hard and fight their way up. So what I feel is that only those 3 guys are responsible for their pathetic conditions now.

yes but… may be they have not been given enough chances to improve their lives…
A good thought… and some valid points as well, but i dont agree completely. The golfing gods are not enslaving their attendants, they are paying them which makes this an honest work, and frm this pay they probably take care of their families.. as to y are they not in place of gods , while its true that they dont have been provided ample opportunities but if they wud ve worked hard in their education they might be at a better position. The main issue is that we have to provide better education system to the masses and reach the very core of our main problem… illetracy
yes… thats y i said m not a supporter of communism but everybody shud be given respect regardless of what their job is….
n the other thing… wt do u think if ur father haven’t been or cudnt be so supportive to u… wud u be at a stature where u r now?
thats the point to ponder…
I guess the world is not perfect, whether we like it or not, it is a jungle out there and “Survival of the fittest” still applies to today’s world. Those three guys can always quit if they find their jobs to be demeaning, but i don’t think their job is demeaning at all. After all, what they are doing is also essential, they are making the golfing experience enjoyable to all these “Gods” who might have had stress-full working hours after which they want to unwind. There is no need to feel pity for what is just another job…
This is my opinion.
Thank u althu there is a lot more to it…
Golff is a rich man’s game and the three souls are being paid …. that is a fact
yes u r right but does ONLY payment is enough? what about the self respect they are losing there?
i believe we are handed over just a situation.. we then use our own goddamned heads/intellect and thoughts and ideas and experiences and instincts and our neighbour’s thoughts and his ideas and what he’ll think and what she’ll do and what if her dog watches us doing this etc etc. to take a decision and handle the situation.. then resulting from our act.. a new situation arises.. which may or may not be something we intended to bring upon us from our previous decision.. but *sigh* nonetheless.. it all is there depending upon how our family, our neighbour’s family, uncle, aunty, dada, dadi, everyone acted and man.. we are still blaming god to having inferred injustice upon us.. so sad, no?
hehe.. give god a break.. own up.. take some responsibility.. or is that what we as humans run away from?
note: not judging you in anyway.. just my ahem.. dictatorial views
peace
lol… its ok even u judge cuz i will remain as i am most of the times…
but bthnx for such a long explaination for letting god at rest…
yeah man.. god needed a lawyer for a long time now
i agree with you
